How and When to Use Mouthwash

At Pure Dental Toowoomba, we may recommend a mouth wash as either an anti-bacterial agent or high fluoride to remineralise your teeth. If you do like to use a normal mouth wash as a part of your routine, we recommend using before brushing to loosen plaque or throughout the day & ensure the mouth wash is alcohol free to help prevent a dry mouth.

At Pure Dental Toowoomba, we believe in prevention based dentistry – this means detecting small problems before they turn into big ones. At your active maintenance appointment, not only are we looking for any new cavities, we are also screening for:

  • Gum disease
  • Oral cancer
  • Erosion

The most important this you can do at home to look after your oral health is brush twice daily, floss once a day, drink 2L of water daily & have a low sugar diet.
